Do I Have Mold in My Home?
Mold and mildew are fungi that reproduce by spreading microscopic spores. Mold spores are everywhere, including indoors. These spores use various methods to spread. For example, the wind can bring them into your house through the window, they can enter through the vents or air conditioning system, or cling to your pet’s fur.
You likely have mold spores in your home, and mold loves moisture. When these spores land on wet surfaces such as walls, pipes, insulation, drywall, carpets, ceilings, or wallpaper, they will begin reproducing to form a mold colony. These colonies produce irritants and allergens that cause health issues, including upper respiratory tract problems such as cough and wheezing.
There is little you can do about mold spores entering your home or business. However, by addressing moisture sources, such as repairing pipe leaks, you can prevent the formation of colonies.
You can find out if you have a mold colony in your home with our mold detection service.
Mold Remediation vs. Mold Removal
Mold removal is one of the steps of mold remediation, and includes the following:
- Removing mold spores with HEPA air filtration and vacuuming
- Removing materials that are no longer salvageable, such as drywall
- Antimicrobial application to remove mold from surfaces
- Applying concentrated hydrogen peroxide to remove mold roots
- Disinfecting and wiping all affected surfaces
Mold removal alone is not sufficient to permanently solve your problem. If there are still wet areas in your home, mold colonies will grow again. When an inexperienced person disturbs a mold colony during removal, settled mold spores will become airborne, and the contamination will spread.
With mold remediation, we address the sources of moisture to prevent regrowth. We also isolate the contaminated area to prevent spores from spreading throughout your home.

Our Mold Remediation Process
Locating the Moisture Source
The first step is to locate and remedy the moisture sources that feed mold colonies, such as roof defects, pipe leaks, and flood damage. We conduct mold testing to find any existing colonies.
Precautionary Measures
During this step, we isolate the colonies to prevent spores from spreading. We also implement protocols to ensure your indoor air is safe.
Mold Removal
This phase involves removing all mold colonies and spores from your building by implementing the IICRC S520 Mold Remediation Protocol. In some cases, mold removal includes replacing materials such as drywall or wallpaper.
Preventing Regrowth
After removing the mold, we apply HEPA filtration to get rid of any remaining mold spores. We also conduct a full reassessment to ensure there are no remaining moisture sources to feed a new colony.
